Singapore - Approx 139km from the Johor Bahru Causeway
By
Public Transport
There
are a few buses that run to Mersing from Singapore on a daily
basis. The easiest way is Transnasional direct from Singapore
to Mersing: departure from the junction of Kallang Bahru and
Lavender Street at 9am, 10am and 10pm. The cost is only S$11.10.
By
Car/Private Transport
Drive
through Johor Bahru until you reach Kota Tinggi, approximately
an hour from JB. Mersing's jetty is located at Mersing town,
an hour's drive further from Kota Tinggi. You may park your
car at a secure parking space at Mersing Town for RM5 per night.
There are lots of road signs along the way that will help you
get to Mersing, and past complaints about the quality of the
roads have been addressed with the resurfacing and widening
of the highway.

Kulau Lumpur - Approx 350km
By
Public Transport
You
can get to the town of Mersing from KL by bus. Catch a Transnasional
bus (tel: 03 20311430) from Puduraya bus station. They leave
Puduraya bus station three times per day, at 11.00 am, 10.30
pm and 11.00 pm. Travel time is approximately 5 hours and the
cost is RM 19.50 per head.
By
Car/Private Transport
Take
the north/south highway from KL, and exit at Air Hitam, about
two hours' drive away. From there, drive to Kluang, then Kahang,
and finally to Mersing Town, a journey that should take about
an hour and a half. You can park your car at a secure parking
space at Mersing Town for RM5 per night.

If
you are coming from Johor Bahru, catch the Transnasional
bus from Larkin Bus Terminal; and if you are on the east coast,
you can get a bus from most of the main towns (Kuantan, Terenggannu,
Kota Baru) to Mersing.
